Sourcing webbing from a Chinese factory? Here's how to spec it right the first time and avoid costly reorders.
Each use case has different requirements:
Bags & backpacks: Need strength and hand feel. Polyester webbing 25–38mm is standard. PP works for budget bags. Cotton webbing for eco-friendly, premium positioning.
Pet collars & leashes: Nylon for leashes (shock absorption), polyester for collars (holds shape). 20–25mm is typical. Reinforced box-stitch at stress points is a must.
Gift & packaging: Satin or grosgrain ribbon, 10–25mm. Focus on color matching (Pantone) and consistent dye lot. Double-face satin looks more premium.
Medical & safety: Medical-grade elastic or polyester webbing. REACH / OEKO-TEX certification required. Bleach-resistant options available.
Width is measured in millimeters. Common choices:
Always give the factory a Pantone number, not a photo. Screens distort colors. Pantone Solid Coated is the standard. Expect a ΔE tolerance of ±1.5 (industry standard).
Standard stock colors: MOQ 50 rolls, 3–7 days. Custom Pantone colors: MOQ 500–1000 rolls, 10–15 days. Custom woven logo: MOQ 1000m, 15–20 days.
